Power Ranks Grow By Two

Power’s busy GE Appliances team has recruited two new members, and both have hit the ground running! Paige Stopher and Laurie Ann Williams are beginning their Power careers as Assistant Client Engagement Managers (ACEMs). But they have much more in common than just their job titles.

Paige and Laurie Ann both graduated in May from the University of Kentucky with degrees in Integrated Strategic Communications. Both women are Louisville natives. Both attended Assumption High School. And based on their respective college internship experiences, Paige and Laurie Ann are well equipped to tackle the wide world of advertising and marketing.

Paige served two college internships. The first was with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass, where she assisted the public relations team with everything from video production and event planning to social media and tours.

Paige’s second internship was with Lexington-based ad agency Cornett, where she joined the social media department in executing work for the company’s Buffalo Trace Distillery and Visit Lex brands.

Laurie Ann’s UK internship was with Awesome Inc., a Lexington company whose mission is to create and grow high-tech startups. Besides managing the company blog and social media sites, she assisted with planning a bi-monthly event called 5 Across. “This event is designed so start-up businesses looking to get off the ground can apply and pitch their idea to a panel of judges,” Laurie Ann explained. “Awesome Inc. selects five ideas to be pitched, and the winner gets $500 toward their start-up expenses.”

Laurie Ann also helped with an annual event called Startup Weekend, in which individuals form teams, create business plans and compete for a chance to advance to the Startup Weekend national competition among finalists from across the country.

Our newest ACEMs are busily adapting to life at Power. “I’ve had a great experience thus far,” Paige said, “and I can’t wait to see what else I can learn from this position and from the GE Appliances team.” Laurie Ann shared similar thoughts, saying, “Everyone has been so welcoming, and I feel happy to be part of such an amazing company surrounded by such great people.”
